My Letter to the NY Times re: Look Who's Calling Murdoch Unfit

Re: Panel in Hacking Case Finds Murdoch Unfit as News Titan Dear Sirs: I'm no fan of Rupert Murdoch, but I was struck by the absurdity of a government panel believing itself fit to judge his fitness to run his own company. Is this decision not the perogative of Mr. Murdoch's board of directors or, dare I say the word, the "consumers" of his product? If Mr. Murdoch has broken laws, then charge him. If he has violated personal privacy, then sue him. But stop this preposterous charade of publicity-seeking politicians and incompetent government bureaucrats as judges of his fitness to run his own private business. Patrick Barron
